Adapted from my chapter, “Unbecoming,” in The Call of the Mystical Mountain.
It began as a hum.
A catchy melody that stayed in the background of my mind for about a week. I didn’t think much of it at first. Then it grew louder, and two words arrived with it, on repeat.
Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta.
It was a woman’s voice. Familiar, although I had no idea who the voice belonged to. Oh, how I thought I was going insane.
The energy of it hummed in my mind until it radiated down, shook my hands, and palpated my chest. The confusion and the denial of what was happening caused deep nerve pain and numbness that alternated between my hands and my legs. The pain in my hips slowed me down until there were days I could not leave my bed. This continued for months.
I was scared out of my mind. My anxiety held me captive. ER visits and cardiologists found me to be healthy. Something had to shift or I felt as if I would die.
I was living in rural Northern Wisconsin and had never so much as looked up a photograph of Mount Shasta. My mind found the whole thing so absurd that it had erased it from my memory, and it was in the loss of my mind that my heart could feel safe to remember.
Then I had a vision of myself holding a bow and arrow. I had drawn back the quiver and it was aimed at Mount Shasta. I was exhausted and in excruciating pain from holding that tension for so long, and when I could not hold it any longer, I released the arrow. I all but yelled, “I’ll go! I don’t know why, but I’ll go. It’s so far away but FINE, I’ll go! It’s JUST a mountain. There’s no reason to go, but I’ll go. It makes no logical sense but, I’ll go.”
Answering the call
I traveled with my nine-year-old son in October of 2023. With each leg of the journey I felt my body soften. My concerns no longer mattered. My heart was synched with a deep magnet toward something I had denied for so long.
On the final leg of the pilgrimage, she spoke to me gently.
“Know this, every time you stare at me in awe and exclaim ‘OH! How beautiful you are!’ REMEMBER, I say that of YOU.”
In truth, the first time I saw her, I wept in recognition and understanding. There I was, standing in front of her, meeting a part of myself for the first time, and deeply knowing I was safe to heal and explore.
The night before our first tour I woke to find the base of the bed vibrating, along with my feet. The crown of my head was buzzing as well. I breathed and I spoke with my Guides until the anxiety passed, and once it passed I could hear that the vibration was the familiar hum of her call. Only now, since arriving, it was in surround sound.
To be on Mount Shasta is to be transformed.
There is a portal on her with three trees. I went to the first and nearly fell back in shock when I heard it humming the tune that had been calling to me. The second, upon touching it, sighed and spoke my soul’s name, the name I had retrieved from the Akashic Records and told to no more than three souls. This tree knew me; the true me beyond this life and others. The third reassured me that it was safe to be loved for who I am, even the parts of myself that I hide from myself.
We sat in meditation after, my sweet son shuffling around next to me while Mary Magdalene danced and wove love energy around us.
Mount Shasta had welcomed me home.
What she asked me to bring her
I knew I’d be back, but I hadn’t dreamed it would be a mere six weeks later. Six more trips followed in eleven months, and with each one I was called to bring her a different version of myself.
I brought my sister wounds and my fears about being seen. Deep in the mountain’s womb I was able to weep, grieve, scream, and then receive a blazing white light that pierced my closed eyes. My crown opened to allow the light of the Goddess to stream into me. Then I sensed something coming toward me, and I willed my eyes to stay closed so that I could receive it with my other senses. In front of me stood a white unicorn with eyes like moonstones. I have toggled between dimensions many times. Never had I met a unicorn before.
Now, I’d like to pause for a moment. If we were sitting next to each other I’d ask you, which part of the traveling process do you enjoy most? The packing or the unpacking? What sometimes goes unrealized is the energetic packing and unpacking, and how integrating all of these shifts affects the physical body. Before and after each of my trips there were often stretches of considerable discomfort. It was as if a version of myself needed to die, be buried, and then be reborn.
Answering the call isn’t all light, love, rainbows, and unicorns. There are moments of deep contrast, and we must show up to them armed with the same humility we showed up with in the light, and with the same or more support.
The healing work I do now
I am an energy worker in service to the awakening of all humanity, and an ambassador to Mount Shasta and the Council of Light. My sessions shifted immensely upon returning to Wisconsin, because Mount Shasta instructed me to energetically bi-locate my clients’ bodies to her.
“I cannot! I’m not trained in that!” I implored her to remember my credentials.
“A representative from their spiritual family will remain and protect their body. You have been encoded to do this and are ready,” was the response.
My mind wandered to my wall, where I proudly displayed my certifications of achievement and permission. This marked my coming into the power given to me through initiations that cannot be given by man or woman. Initiation of the Goddess and Earth. She has no printer. No Certifications.
My client arrived and lay on the very path I had walked during my first trip. She was very tired. My human mind wanted to aid her, but before I could figure out what to do I felt the most gentle, loving, Divine Masculine energy I’ve ever felt. Everything zoomed out so that I could observe her. Ascended Master Yeshua was kneeling in front of her tired body. He whispered something to her and, with her permission, he lifted her into his arms.
Oh, this is new! I thought, crying and witnessing. I asked my client how she was feeling and she reported that she felt peaceful, almost as if she was floating.
Every session is different. I never know what awaits us. I obey and I show up in service to the love, the healing, and to the oneness.
I have invited star families into our healing space as well. On one occasion I was being instructed how to remove the tiniest of blockages, and the star family members became impatient with me and asked to enter my body and do it themselves. Knowing that I was safe, I agreed. I could feel the energy of the ET enter my arms and hands, and I could hear their surprise. “So, this is what it feels like to be human? So strange.” My hands moved in a precise way and I watched the extraction of the tiniest, almost needle-like blockages from her shoulder.
I hold these experiences dear to my heart. I know what a great gift it is to hold sacred space for another.
Are you ready to answer the call?
Embedded within each of us is a specific call toward remembering our truth. When one of us answers it, our lives ignite with passion, direction, and clarity.
It is not my job to shake my neighbor until they wake up and hear that their call has been blaring in their ears. It is my honor to welcome my fellow pilgrims once they acknowledge their call. To witness their humble hearts. To help calm their minds by inviting them back into the safety of their soul’s journey.
So, for you my reader. If there is a hum in you, if a name has been repeating itself and your mind keeps calling it absurd, know this. She is not asking you to understand her. She is asking you to come.

A note on my story. The nerve pain and numbness I describe here were looked at thoroughly by doctors before I understood any of it as my own awakening. If your body is speaking to you through pain, let it be heard medically as well as spiritually. Both are honoring.
